WE ASSIST CHILD-BRIGHT RESEARCH PROJECTS TEAM TO DEVELOP SECURE, RELIABLE, AND RIGOROUS SYSTEMS FOR THE COLLECTION, ANALYSIS, AND REPORTING OF STUDY DATA.
In 2020-2021, we:
Supported research teams with data management and safety monitoring
Over the past year, we worked closely with seven CHILD-BRIGHT research teams to support their data management needs in relation to their studies. Three of their studies require oversight from the CHILD-BRIGHT Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). The DSMB meets twice a year to review the safety and effectiveness of trials. For example, the DSMB can ensure the safety of participants in a trial by monitoring whether there are any side effects caused by the treatments being tested.
We also continued our work with the Health Economics service team to support their collection of high-quality data that can be analyzed, disseminated, and implemented into policy and practice.
We also supported the CHILD-BRIGHT Central Office team with their data management needs related to surveys, annual reporting, and network membership.
Participated a new blog series about data reuse
Collaborating with the Research Program and PolicyWise for Children and Families, we helped to plan a new blog series. Launched in June 2020, this blog series explains and explores topics related to research data use. Visit the Research Program update page for more information about this series.
Part 1
Reuse of Research Data
Part 2
Understanding the Roles of Different Stakeholders in Research
We look forward to continuing our work with network members and the public, and helping them to better understand issues surrounding data next year!
